Almost 13 years ago, I lost my fiancé to opiate overdose. The opiate settlements present a unique opportunity to improve resources & services for the treatment & prevention of SUD. As someone with lived, advocacy & scholarly experience regarding SUD, I feel I can bring a valuable perspective to these discussions & decisions.

We all understand the need for affordable housing. Whether you own a home or rent, the recent & upcoming uptick in housing costs is bound to hit you hard. We need creative solutions guided by solid metrics based in environmental, economic & community impact.

While larger chains have weathered the pandemic fairly well, local businesses, mom & pop shops & sole proprietorships need our support to recover fully. I would also note caregivers who had children home, elderly or immunocompromised family members or any other of a variety of unprecedented situations experienced during Covid restriction

In all our recovery efforts, I believe these local businesses & people should be centered & their needs prioritized.
